WARNING this girl below needs a tan, like asap. There’s gotta be an app for that…somebody help me. Please don’t let those alarmingly white legs (and arms for that matter) keep you from falling in love with this festival inspired number, okay? Okay.
I mean what screams festival more than a (pale) chick in a bright neon peplum and festival shorts? Nada…
Outfit details and a couple fun shots after the jump (think PINK hair)…
In case you have ever dreamt of what my hair would look like hot pink…now you know. But on the serious, I’ve been contemplating dying my ends pink for a good 8 months or so and this little edit is DEFINITELY going to make me take the plunge – I’M IN LOVE. I don’t even care that 90% of the female population will probably be doing the same thing this summer, so it wont be the slightest bit original, that’s how much I love it. Thats the big time, ya’ll.
Listen, I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been searching for the perfect, best ever boyfriend jeans for over 2 years now. I’m happy to report the search has officially ended. FEAST your eyes, my friends. Others have boasted, but none compare. My favorite cousin came to visit the other weekend we randomly stopped in A&F. After avoiding this store for more than 2 years, I found the pants of my dreams lurking inside. If they had more than one pair, I probably would have bought 100 on the spot. They are 50% off online/in stores now – so run with the wind to that checkout line people. I wont lie, after wearing strictly skinny jeans for the last few years, I felt a little weird in these at first. I’m usually more comfortable in tight clothing (as my mother cringes remembering my high school days of too-tight clothing) than I am in relaxed or loose pieces…but I’m slowly learning to branch out. I love trying new things. My boyfriend still thinks these pants are weird. Ironic?
Get your own pair here.
SWEATS SWEATS SWEATS. Thats a word you never thought you’d see on a style blog. Well friends, it’s time to take the shame away from the word and make one little exception. Ya’ll these sweats are the best sweats there ever were. They look like normal pants! You’re sold already, but I’ll tell you more. They have a nice little shiny track stripe down the side, zippered pockets and the perfect amount of slouch to provide the unbeatable blend of comfort and style, if you will. I know you hear that. Get these ones here, or if you are feelin’ the ethnic trend that’s all the haps right now get these ones instead (they’re on my wishlist).
Ps. did you notice my shadow? Cracks me up. Hobo lady…
Quick outfit post for you kiddos. I don’t wear navy blue very often, mainly because I wear a lot of black and I don’t always love mixing the two. My favorite way to wear it? Navy on the top and navy on the bottom, in true monochromatic form.
Yes, that is the weirdest face I’ve ever made. You’re welcome for sharing.
Let’s play a Friday game, shall we? Everyone chose their favorite pair of cut out shoes and go buy them! Happy Friday. Quit reading now and go spend money on yourself. Only Kidding, you better keep reading. What’s your favorite? Tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine! I knew you’d love this game (new shoes and a stylish opinion, you are WINNING). BTW, don’t you just love those cream and black cut out sandals that Jules from Sincerely Jules is sporting above? Major crush. The other ones are Madison Harding + Lust for Life. I love the western vibe they have goin’ on.
Ok, back to the game. Look, we’re all friends here so I’m going to tell you something. The real truth is, I hand picked each one of these suckers for this post and I want them all. Nobody is surprised by that. #I #HAVE #A #PROBLEM. But let’s get real, if I walked around in cut out shit all the time, some folks might get a bit uncomfortable. Few might even offer up stupid jokes at my expense as way to ease their discomfort. Who cares? This is one shoe trend I can really get behind. It’s true my friends, the cut out shoe trend is springs unsung hero. You heard it here first (duh).
You know? I know. He gets it and then some, am I right? This beautiful Editorial by Martin Perlaki is definitely enough to make yo jaw drop. I think I love the completely relaxed nature of the model in these images, while immersed in the most unique of poses or environments. It has a calming effect. One of the biggest attention getters in editorial, in my opinion, is creating something so strange it works. I like my editorial campaigns on both ends of the spectrum, either insanely plain and minimalistic or outrageous and chaotic with almost too much going on.
