    diy inspiration: skirts

These skirts blew my mind for both their price tags, yikes! and total DIY-ableness. Hello, you can make any of these!

    Some ideas :

:: Sew your own using a awesome piece of graphic fabric like this birdie one. (hint: Ikea has some great graphic prints that would make awesome clothing)

:: To get the gold dipped version use spray paint, fabric paint or sew on a piece of gold fabric to an existing skirt… instant color block power. (hint: find a great skirt for this at your local thrift store)

:: Get metallic with spray paint or some crazy fabric. (hint: or just buy this one as its on major sale.)

:: Mesh it up starting with a cheap basic skirt as your jumping off point. Then cut off the bottom portion in a neat pattern…how awesome is the one pictured? You could also do scallops or even cut it as a straight edge. Then glue on or sew some mesh right up in there…or even eyelet fabric, or anything with texture. (hint: F21 and H&M sell cheap basic skirts in a variety of colors)

:: Fringe it up by gluing some tassels to an existing skirt.

:: Bedazzle the heck out of a skirt to obtain the jeweled look. (hint: get your jewels at Michaels in the kids section, they sell huge bags for a few bucks) Just glue them to the skirt to adhere.

Six totally easy things to do ya damn self. Are you as inspired as I am?
